What Do You Think?

I'm trying to talk my mom into letting me have a ferret. You already know I have a hamster named KD, but she is lazy. Look at this video. It is kind of long but tells you everything you need to know. My mom said no, but she said no to the hamster too. If I did get a ferret I would share it with my brother Andrew. And maybe my sister.

Tell me what you think!

  1. A woman in Georgia introduced me to the ferret. They are some of the most energetic creatures in the pet world. So the three of you would certainly get exercise and so would your Mum.

  2. This is the mom speaking Bug. I know you think I will eventually say yes because I did to the cat, the hamster and the dog. So it would make sense I'd given in to the ferret too. But seriously, we can't. There is too much going on in our house with the pets we have. My vote is no dear. Why don't you ask your dad...ha ha. I love you!

  4. Ferrets smell horrible. Get your mom to buy you a pony or at the very least, get her to spring for riding lessons.

  5. Bug,
I think you have reached the fur limit for your household. It's a federal law, there's nothing your mom can do about it. She has to say "No". Sorry. Tough beans.

~Auntie Kari (who wouldn't let her kids get a ferret either but who thinks you are a great kid with a big heart for animals!)

  6. Hi Angelfish!
I know how much you must want a ferret, but I think right now is not a good time. You just got a dog! Your kitties are already stressed because they have to share the house with Josie. I think if you brought another animal in the house, they would be very upset. And ferrets do need a lot of attention. It would be so easy for it to get out of the house just like the cats do. Or Josie might think it is a toy and try to catch it and that wouldn't be good. I know how bad you feel that you want one but it isn't a good idea to have it. I always want more dogs and cats every day but I know that I can't bring anymore into the house. It wouldn't be fair to the ones I have. I think that all the animals you have might think the same thing. It takes time to spread all the love around to each animal every day. Plus, you know how dust and animal hair make it hard to breathe sometimes, this would just add to that problem. Maybe instead of getting another animal you can find an animal shelter to volunteer at once in a while. You and your mom can help take care of a bunch of animals for a couple of hours every other week or so. They need brushing and to be played with. Think of all the animals you could help by doing that AND you wouldn't upset any of the animals in your house or your Dad! love you! Auntie Keeka

  7. I think your Mum and the Aunties are right about not having a ferret right now.

And Auntie Keeka has a good idea about the animal shelter.

    Riding lessons are good too.

  8. Hi Alayna, it's Uncle Jimbo. I know that you really want a ferret but I promise you that they are dirty animals and they smell really bad. I knew someone that had several and when I went to visit them their house smelled. They require alot of attention and require alot of time to spend with. I also think that with a dog and the cats that they would be stressed and that Josey would get them and it hurt them. Right now stick with KD, Josey and the cats.

  9. Hi Bug-it's mom-I'm sorry you aren't hearing what you hoped for. When you ask what other people think, that is the risk you take. Even if everyone said it was a good idea, we still couldn't do it. But it was a good idea to see what others thought. It is always interesting to ask! Please write some more!!

  10. Is this it? Ferret stuff?
Good grief, I thought you were going to blog. Yes, please write some more, just not about ferrets (which smell really bad, trust me.)

  11. So I guess that's it. I was hoping you'd blog on a regular basis but it was just a ploy to get your mom's readers to pressure her into getting you a ferret.
    Big sigh.
I'm sure you have lots of interesting things to write about, other than ferrets. Why not give blogging another try? There are lots of people out here in Internet Land who would love to hear what's going on in your life.
